Dolly Parton Is A Not-So-Secret Food Superstar
Her collaboration with Conagra is expanding for the third time in as many years.
There's no denying that Dolly Parton is a musical legend. Her decades-long career in country music is already one for the books, but she has also applied her seemingly endless powers to a different industry altogether: food, particularly consumer package goods.
Parton already has a partnership with household baking brand Duncan Hines, and apparently that product line is doing quite well, because the brand has announced that Parton's food influence is only about to get bigger. She's about to make her debut not just in your pantry, but in your refrigerator, too.
Dolly Parton has entered into a partnership with Conagra Brands
Duncan Hines is owned by parent company Conagra Brands, so expanding Parton's partnership to Conagra more broadly only makes sense. Parton's Duncan Hines lineup already includes boxed baking goods, but her expanded partnership means even more products with the superstar's face on them.
The expanded lineup will now include Banana Nut Muffin Mix, Cinnamon Crumb Cake Mix, Blueberry Muffin Mix, Yellow Cake Mix, and Chocolate Cake Mix, as well as canned frosting, sugar cookie mix, and brownie mix. Oh, and Parton's also covering breakfast with a Buttermilk Pancake Mix, which will hit shelves later this winter.
Conagra has also announced that its exclusive partnership with Dolly Parton will also include products like "frozen, refrigerated, grocery and snack items inspired by down-home comfort cuisine."
There's no further detail just yet on what those frozen and refrigerated products might be. But knowing how celebrity partnerships go, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing things like frozen convenience meals packaged in some shade of bright pink like her Duncan Hines products.
Dolly Parton has had her own influence on food culture
Parton already serves a mean stone soup at her theme park, Dollywood, but her food influence extends beyond those property lines. She collaborated with Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams for a one-time flavor, Strawberry Pretzel Pie, which crashed the Jeni's website and sold out in person at Jeni's shops immediately.
Then, of course, there's Parton's love of Taco Bell. She's a documented fan of the Mexican Pizza, and participated in a musical video heralding its return to the Taco Bell menu in 2022. We're big fans of the Mexican Pizza, and if anyone was going to announce its return, we're glad it was her. Keep an eye out at the grocery store, y'all—it might soon be even more full of a famous and friendly face.
