The Perfect Super Bowl Food Doesn't Exi—
These Buffalo wings have the added benefit of THC sauce.
So-called functional food and beverage products are all the rage these days, and the category has seen one area of major growth: THC-infused consumer packaged goods. Yep, we're talking about food that'll get you stoned. Marijuana is currently legal for recreational use in 24 states, including a couple of the most populous ones. Combine that weed availability with the upcoming Super Bowl, and you can then understand the timing behind one company's new THC-infused Buffalo wing sauce.
This Buffalo wing sauce will get you stoned
Chicago-area cannabis company Cresco Labs has released this magical Buffalo wing sauce under its Good News cannabis brand. A press release explains that Cresco has partnered up with a local sports bar, The Fifty/50, to create a stoner's version of its wing sauce. (I've been to The Fifty/50 on multiple occasions and can attest that the wings are good.)
Each jar of sauce contains 100 milligrams of THC and is enough to coat about 24 wings, meaning each wing will have just over 4 milligrams of THC. Knowing how much I love Buffalo wings, I should probably stay away from this stuff at if I know what's best for me, because I'd probably be fused to the couch by the end of the first quarter.
The product dropped on February 2, but you'll have to be in Illinois to pick it up, specifically near Chicago at a dispensary chain called Sunnyside. There are four locations (including one by The Takeout's office). Don't expect a taste test from me if you want the review to actually be written, however.
Good News' Big Game wing sauce retails for $30 per jar, and yes, you have to be over 21 to purchase. But for those who don't want to drink alcohol during Super Bowl LVIII, this is another option for a different kind of buzz. If you're having a party, however, just make sure everyone is aware of what they're dipping into that blue cheese dressing.
