My Takeout colleague Kate Bernot and I both a bit obsessed with baking breads at the moment. Having started with Jim Lahey’s miraculous no-knead bread, then graduating to my old sourdough starter (this is my favorite bread book), I’m now diving headfirst into baguettes. The first time I attempted baguettes, I followed Paul Hollywood’s method on The Great British Bake Off: Masterclass. This weekend, I’m going to be give Breadtopia’s technique a whirl. Breadtopia is the well-maintained bread blog from amiable Iowan amateur baker Eric Rusch.
