Have you heard Eduardo Garcia’s story? In 2011, he was a 30-ish-year-old yacht chef, sailing around the world while cooking, surfing, and fishing. He came back to his home state of Montana and, while out hiking in the backcountry, was shocked with 2,400 volts of electricity from a neglected electrical junction box. He lived—through multiple surgeries, an arm amputation, grueling physical therapy, etc.—only to find out that he had testicular cancer. The first time I heard his story in a radio program, I found it almost unbelievable. I watched a documentary about him last night, and it made his whole saga so much visceral. (Literally. Parts of it can get graphic.) But definitely give it a watch. [Kate Bernot]
