Handsome Canadian Ryan Reynolds Buys Into American Gin Company
Following other celebrities like Channing Tatum, Diddy, and George Clooney, Ryan Reynolds has entered the world of celebrity-owned alcohol. The successful actor, who earned $21.5 million last year, has bought into Aviation Gin. Forbes reports that Reynolds now has "a stake" in the U.S. brand, and will become a member of its board as well as a "creative director."
In the long and in no way disastrous marriage of showbiz and alcohol, so happy to announce I'm the proud owner of a gin company... @AviationGin. pic.twitter.com/qPwe0IC6bz

Reynolds is making waves by opting for the unusual choice of gin, as opposed to more common celebrity vodkas and wineries. He says he first tasted Aviation a year ago, and "since that day, I've spent my time finding some way to infiltrate the company." So far, Aviation doesn't really stand out in a market dominated by Tanquerey and Bombay, but it may get some more traction thanks to Reynold's involvement.
Clooney made hundreds of millions off of an initial investment of $600,000 into his brand of tequila (along with entrepreneur Rande Gerber and real estate tycoon Mike Meldman). We'll have to wait a while to see whether Reynolds is that fortunate, but some product placement in his upcoming hot properties like Deadpool 2 and Clue should certainly help.
