It’s hard to believe Gail Simmons, the kindly and encouraging chef on Top Chef, has waited this long to publish her first cookbook. Called Bringing it Home: Favorite Recipes from a Life of Adventurous Eating, Simmons’ cookbook is more a recipe scrapbook, collected from her adventures traveling the world as a food writer, consultant, and television personality. Simmons visited The Takeout headquarters in Chicago to talk about her new book, and her favorite city in 15 seasons of filming Top Chef.
