Today I LearnedToday I Learned is a feature where The Takeout writers share something they learned today.

No, this Chick-fil-A trick won’t change your life, but as far as fast-food hacks go, it’s pretty solid. (It actually made me say “whoa” out loud at my screen.) Here’s how the “hack” works: Like other fast-food paper boxes, Chick-Fil-A’s nugget vessels have a small, round hole in them. Its true purpose, my instinct says, is to let heat and steam escape from the nuggets so that they don’t become soggy. But, friends, today I learned it has a second, even more genius function.

Pretty great, right? This little nugget of a tip (sorry again) comes via imgur, and and was brought to my attention by Dallas-Fort Worth radio station KLUV. We’ve previously bemoaned the many pitfalls of eating fast food, especially items that involve sauces, and were thrilled to learn that, at least when it comes to Chick-fil-A nuggets, there’s a small way to improve the experience. Hat tip to imgur user rblack12 for making our lives roughly 2 percent better.
