Pastorelli’s pizza sauce and anything is a winning combination.
It’s been a while but I didn’t recall feeling super hungry. Four or five shakes were staggered throughout the day along with water, and there were enough vitamins/minerals/protein/calories to keep the body running. Kind of like a race car when you’d fuel up and be good until you needed to refuel.
It’s wasn’t comically large, a typical can size is probably a quart-ish of powder. General formula is not too cheap to begin with, and figure at least a 30-35% premium on the specialized stuff. The difference is when you’re a 15-16 lb baby, you’re not going through a can a day (at least my kids didn’t).
I didn’t consider that too greatly at the time - the end goal was always to return to eating food unless things were uncontrollably bad. I’m able to self-manage now, so I guess that’s kind of a sweet spot that allows me to avoid supplemental nourishment.
