Asian Cuisine, Meal Preparation Hacks, Food Recalls
- Kristine enjoys creating Pinterest boards featuring a variety of dishes and recipes, blending her favorite cuisines to craft top-notch meal courses.
- She previously ran a home-based food business with her mom, selling packed meals, desserts, and snacks to nearby schools and local establishments.
- Over the past five years, she's dabbled in various pursuits — including sports and organizing community events — but her passion for writing has never waned.
Experience
Kristine's love for cooking began at a young age, inspired by watching her mom run the kitchen — preparing meals for the family and the employees at their now-defunct hardware store. However, after earning a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Kristine pursued a different career path. She spent over 14 years working as a drug test analyst at a local drug testing center. In addition to her work as an analyst, she has taken on several online writing jobs, producing content across a variety of niches, including health and wellness. On the side, she collected recipe books and ideas online, eventually using them to start a small made-to-order food business with her mom during the pandemic. She has since joined The Takeout as one of its news writers.
Education
Kristine graduated college at UNO-R in 2007, where she learned the rudiments of news writing through supplementary classes in news and communication. To expand her knowledge in the industry, she completed a digital journalism course by Reuters.
The Takeout’s industry-leading editorial coverage is the result of collaboration between writers and editors with a wide array of experience and expertise in the world of food and drink.
