Experience
After becoming passionate about pop culture and media analysis, Alyssa discovered her love of writing her first year of college. While at Rutgers University, she participated in a writing cohort led by cultural critic and writer Roxane Gay, interviewed successful alumni such as sportscaster Kathryn Tappen, and wrote for publications such as The Daily Targum, Her Campus Rutgers, Spoon University Rutgers, and local arts magazine NJ Stage. She has worked on various types of content, such as film and TV reviews, theatre reviews, lifestyle and pop culture articles, and food pieces.
Education
Alyssa graduated from Rutgers University in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and media studies and a double minor in creative writing and gender and media. In the summer of 2023, she studied abroad in Bologna, Italy, and collaborated on an article about feminism in the country. The article was published in Rutgers' Kairos magazine, winning a Rutgers School of Communication and Information award for excellence in gender and equality reporting.
