Two Strangers Walk Into A Bar, One Offers Her Kidney

You never know what can happen when two people meet in a bar. Friendship. Love. Marriage. And perhaps, the gift of a kidney.

In a heartwarming story that could probably only stem from Minnesota, a woman named Kristen Day offered her kidney to a man only two hours after meeting him at a bar in the town of Nimrod. She noticed the fistula on the man's arm, which is a port used for administering dialysis, according to the Duluth News Tribune. The man needed dialysis every other day because of his damaged kidneys. The two struck up a conversation, and Day soon offered him a vital organ. She tells the News Tribune, "It was just kind of crazy... We were in the right place at the right time."

When health screenings revealed her to be a match, Day went off to surgery, about six months to the day of meeting her new friend. She says, "I honestly had no fear about the surgery... I felt so sure about my decision. I think that's why I didn't feel scared about it."
