Little Debbie Warms The Black Heart Of Twitter
If you're a social media manager for a major food brand, we don't blame you for wanting to have a little fun with it. Right now, KFC is using a "chicken crossing the road" theme to get through its U.K. poultry shortage, and previously hid some clever clues in who the brand follows on Twitter. Wendy's is downright gleeful as it roasts various people, like McDonald's, but made amends recently by becoming online pals with MoonPie.
But this sensitive time of year, so soon after Valentine's Day (a.k.a. Beautiful And Popular People Day), we were cheered to see a caring message in our Twitter feed from an unusual source.
Dear Friend,
Valentine's day has ended & perhaps it was an amazing time filled with bliss or perhaps it was a quiet time spent alone. But you know what? Either one of those are ok. Never attach your value & worth as a person to your relationship status.
Love,
Little Debbie— Little Debbie (@LittleDebbie) February 19, 2018
Thank you, Little Debbie! And, you're absolutely right about that bullshit Hallmark holiday. Our flowers must have gotten lost in the mail, so what, right?
We shouldn't have been too surprised, as Little Debbie's current pinned tweet has a similar message:
You'll experience lots of changes this new year. Now, change isn't a bad thing by any means, but we are excited to announce that Little Debbie snack cakes will continue to make delicious snacks for all of 2018. That way you can know at least ONE thing in your life is secure.

Honestly, we had no idea that Little Debbie cared that much. But we appreciate any ray of sunshine that manages to escape the hellish landscape that is Twitter. Naturally, that affection-filled V Day message had some dubious followers, like Difficult People's Julie Klausner:
But Little Debbie was on the case, responding to Julie and many of its other doubters:
Twitter can definitely use all the positive vibes it can get nowadays: Thanks, Little Debbie!
