Chicago West food truck owners not yet millionaires despite sharing name with Kardashian infant

The naming of Chicago West, the now week-old member of the Kardashian-West clan, was of special interest to Mellissa Chester of Seattle. Mellissa, a fan of the Kardashians, also happens to co-own—with her husband David—a food truck named ChicagoWest.

“This all kind of dropped last Friday so we’ve been answering questions and seeing some comments on social media,” David Chester tells The Takeout, adding that the food truck has garnered some new Facebook and Twitter followers because of the coincidence. “But there hasn’t been necessarily an uptick in business. We haven’t had any increased bookings because of it.”

The truck serves Chicago-style food like a hot dog, cheddar-and-caramel popcorn, and Chicago beef sandwich with the tagline “bringing a taste of Chicago to the Pacific Northwest.” The Chesters are enjoying their unexpected moment in the spotlight and say they’re considering adding a baby West-inspired dish to their menu.

“We wanted to add a little more kid-friendly section [to the menu] and this will most likely be the headliner in the kids’ section,” Chester says.

But unlike baby West, the Chesters are not instantly rich.

“I think long-term, more people following us helps. More visibility as to who we are helps. Maybe we’ll get a few more bookings out of it,” Chester says. “But I don’t think I’ll be a millionaire by the end of the month or anything.”

If all their social media didn’t have “food” added to the end, they might have made some quick cash selling their instagram and twitter handles.
