Last CallLast CallLast Call is The Takeout’s online watering hole where you can chat, share recipes, and use the comment section as an open thread. Here’s what we’ve been reading/watching/listening around the office today.

Basing life decisions as a series of bets

I’m currently making my way through the book Thinking In Bets, from former professional poker player Annie Duke. It’s about a lot of things: Embracing uncertainty, decision bias, the pitfalls of Monday Morning Quarterbacking. If you’re fans of books like Factfulness, The Signal and the Noise, Thinking, Fast And Slow, Duke’s book is proving to be just as fascinating and practical read. If this sounds up your alleay, I’d start by watching the Google Talks interview above, or listen to the excellent podcast episode from The Jordan Harbinger Show.

Daft Punk + Stevie Wonder

For a while this song was on every 90 seconds, and then it disappeared. So to hear “Get Lucky” again—with Nile Rodgers and Stevie Wonder!—is just an absolute pleasure. Enjoy this again or for the very first time... and have a great weekend, everyone. [Kevin Pang]
