In 2020, Progresso had about 90 varieties of soups, but in the early months of the pandemic, General Mills ended production on 40 of those soups.

Among the soups lost were the chicken cheese enchilada, chicken & orzo with lemon, a few chicken noodle types, and green pea. The company focused on soups that already sold well.
In the 1960s, the Loma Linda brand created a plant-based soup. With so much plant-based competition in the market, Nuteena dropped off in 2005.

This brand had 16 different varieties and was one of the products that capitalized on the use of the microwave. Lunch Bucket only lasted from 1989 until the mid-1990s.

These ready-to-eat puddings debuted in 1968 in small, squat metal cans. The brand moved to the safer but cheaper option of using plastic cups in 1984.

Campbell's Pepper Pot was released in 1899 and was on shelves for over a century. It wasn’t a huge seller and with low demand, they stopped making it in 2010.
