Guillermo Del Toro’s new “don’t call it a horror movie” Crimson Peak is a visual treat, but will it appeal to our other senses as well? The A.V. Club attempted to find this out after receiving a selection of perfumes from Black Phoenix AlchemyLab‘s Crimson Peak line, which debuts on October 31. We tried the eponymous perfume, as well as the character fragrances for our spunky heroine Edith Cushing and spooky siblings Sir Thomas and Lady Lucille Sharpe. Katie Rife and Becca James were ready to make some olfactory judgments, and dragged along A.A. Dowd, who doesn’t wear cologne, but has seen Crimson Peak.
